Substitute Vacancies

All substitute applicants, new and current, must complete the required substitute training program prior to employment in the district.

Orientation for substitutes, new and current, is on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 and will also include the required substitute training program noted above.

Location: Middle/High School Cafeteria located at 305 West 4 th Street in Washburn, WI from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and building tours will be available after the completion of the training.

The School District of Washburn is accepting applications for substitute teachers at all grade levels for the 2019-20 school year. Candidates who hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university are eligible to apply to the Wisconsin Department of Instruction for a substitute teaching license. A Three-Year Short-Term Substitute license may be issued to an applicant who holds an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and who has successfully completed an approved substitute training program but has not completed a state-approved educator preparation program. Once educators hold a current Three-Year Short-Term Substitute license, they may short-term substitute at any Wisconsin school district that wishes to hire them.

$105 Full Day Rate and $52.50 Half Day Rate (4 hours) The School District of Washburn uses the AESOP substitute calling system.

The School District of Washburn is accepting application for substitute Special Education aides.

$85 Full Day Rate and $42.50 Half Day Rate (4 hours) The School District of Washburn uses the AESOP substitute calling system.

Any person employed by a Wisconsin public school as a Special Education program aide, must hold a Special Education Program Aide License issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) or hold another valid and current DPI license or permit. License requirements are: Must be at least 18 years of age, must hold a high school diploma or an equivalent degree and complete a DPI application.

Applications are also being accepted for Temporary On-Call substitutes for Custodial, Secretarial, Playground and Food Service. If interested, please register for and attend the above training on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
